Phoebe - Multimedia Broadcast Journalist

I’m Phoebe Dukes, a London-based broadcast journalist . I produce clear, engaging stories across TV, radio and digital platforms, with a particular interest in data-led reporting and human stories.

Before journalism, I worked as a Graduate Research Executive at Verian, analysing complex datasets from government projects and turning them into clear, audience-focused narratives. This background strengthens my reporting, allowing me to break down complex issues and tell stories with clarity and impact.

I’m also a TEDx speaker with international experience working in Hong Kong and across the UK.

This showreel demonstrates my experience presenting news bulletins, producing NIBs and OOVs, and writing clear, accurate scripts under tight deadlines. It also showcases my ability to report live outside the studio without autocue, delivering confident, engaging coverage in fast-paced environments.

I produce original, London-focused television news packages that explore community-driven stories. My reporting highlights underrepresented voices and examines how national issues play out at a grassroots level across the capital.

My work includes coverage of events such as the Stitch Festival, where I reported on sustainable fashion initiatives and the work of community groups tackling textile waste in East London. I have also covered environmental policy debates, including local opposition to the proposed expansion of the Beddington Lane waste incinerator in Croydon, focusing on residents’ concerns around health and environmental risks.

I film, script, and edit my own packages, using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro to produce clear, engaging broadcast content.

My social video skills are tailored to engage a growing digital-first audience, particularly across platforms like TikTok and Instagram. I’ve enjoyed approaching online trends through a journalistic lens - combining expert-led research with clear, engaging storytelling, alongside strong headlines, captions and graphics designed to stop users mid-scroll. My use of a walk-and-talk style helps create a more direct and personable connection with the viewer, making complex topics feel accessible and relevant.

I’m confident working across the Adobe Creative Suite, with hands-on experience in Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing, Adobe Audition for sound design and mixing, and Adobe Photoshop for creating graphics and visual assets.

My audio experience includes writing and producing short news bulletins, covering breaking stories, pre-packaged reports, and delivering live in-studio two-ways. I’m confident scripting for clarity and pace, as well as adapting tone for different formats and audiences.

I edit and produce audio using Adobe Audition and Adobe Podcast, with experience in cleaning audio, mixing levels, and creating broadcast-ready packages.

I produce original radio packages covering social and lifestyle issues, from access to apprenticeships for young people to innovative ways commuters can improve their health. My work combines clear scripting, strong audio storytelling, and on-the-ground reporting to make complex topics engaging and accessible for listeners.
